Birthday Tribe is operated by Space Ai Technology Ltd (“Birthday Tribe”, “we”, “us” or “our”). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy unless stated otherwise. You can contact us at privacy@birthdaytribe.com.
This policy applies to our website, mobile apps, Tribe rooms, Pulse, messages, gifting, subscriptions, events and related services (the “Services”). It explains what we collect, why we use it, who receives it, how long we keep it and the rights you have.
Where UK or EEA law applies, we rely on contract, legitimate interests, consent, legal obligation and—where necessary—vital interests. We complete balancing assessments where legitimate interests are used and do not rely on consent when a service is compulsory.
Birthday Tribe is built around shared dates. Day and month may be visible to appropriate members according to profile and age settings. Birth year and precise age are private by default. Younger users receive higher-privacy defaults and restricted discovery. We do not publicly display a child’s precise location, contact details or full date of birth.
The Services are not available to children under 13. Where a country requires a higher minimum age or parental authorisation, that rule applies. Because the Services may be accessed by people under 18, we design with the best interests of children as a primary consideration, provide age-appropriate notices and use stronger privacy and safety defaults. Final age-assurance and parental-consent processes are confirmed before launch.
Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. We use lawful safeguards such as adequacy regulations, approved standard clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, as applicable.
We keep information only as long as needed for the Services, safety, accounting, disputes and law. After account deletion, profile data is normally deleted or anonymised within 30 days, subject to backups and limited legal, transaction or safety retention. A detailed retention schedule is approved before launch.
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. Contact privacy@birthdaytribe.com. UK users may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
We use proportionate safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, logging, secure development, vendor review and incident response. No system is completely secure. Protect your credentials and report suspicious access immediately.
We may use automated systems to recommend people, content and rooms. These recommendations do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you. You can adjust discovery and privacy controls, and we monitor systems for safety and unfair outcomes.
Service notifications support birthdays, security and account activity. Marketing is optional where consent is required. You can change preferences in the app or unsubscribe from emails, although essential service messages may continue.
We may update this policy and will provide additional notice for material changes. Email privacy@birthdaytribe.com or write to us at our registered office.
